Gameplay

The planet is on the verge of destruction and players try to win the favor of the gods in order to be rescued! They do this by building temples and crafting relics with gemstones they collect on their turns.

Players play simultaneously. One player has an offer phase in which temples and relics are built, while the others have a collecting phase in which they collect gemstones. During the offer phase players can also try to predict where other players are moving to and plan an attack.

At the end of the game players calculate their total favor to the gods by adding builded temples and shrines. Highest points, wins the game!

Thoughts

👍 Because players play simultaneously there is little to no downtime in this game, which I really like.

👍 Even though it might look a bit complex, the gameplay is elegant in its simplicity and it is easy to learn and teach. I like the fact that building temples unlocks certain powers.

👍 The game has a high replayability value. The set-up can be changed each game and the way players move and where they place their temples is not predictable.

👍 The game has a beautiful table presence with its round board. Since this is only a prototype, I’m very curious about the component quality of the end product!

❌ It would've been fun if players had asymmetrical player powers, maybe a fun expansion?

❌ I can imagine people finding it a bit too punishing to lose half their gemstones and a relic when under attack

❌ No solomode
