Gameplay

Flourish is a 1-4 player cardgame in which each player builds on their garden. Players start the game with a hand of six cards. Each turn players simultaneously select one card to play and two cards to give away, to their players to the left/right.

After this they will take the cards their neighbours selected for them and draw 1 extra card. When 3 cards have been played on each garden, it's time for the first end of round scoring. In the top of each card is indicated how points will be awarded.

After three rounds, the game ends and the end of game scoring starts. At the bottom of each card is shown how points will be awarded for this. The player with the most points, wins the game!

Thoughts

Flourish is a beautiful cardgame with a lot of different gaming modes. Having tried all of them, I can say I love it!! I love the simplicity of the drafting and building up my own little garden, while scoring points in between rounds.

The game components are topnotch and even though the 3d sculptures are not really a necessity and take in a lot of room in the gamebox, they really do add to the gaming experience.

One little sidenote is the fact that this game really is what it is. A beautiful cardgame. Because of all the extra components, it might suggest a bit otherwise.

I'm a fan an can definitely recommend this game!
