Gameplay

☂️In Maui, players will fill up a beach puzzling with nothing other than beach towels!

⛱️Every turn players get to take one of the towels from the main board and place it on their own player board or take sand dollars from one of the two indicated spots.

☂️When taking a towel it has to be placed in a new column siding with a towel from the same colour. All matching towels will score points, depending on where they are positioned (closer to the water scores more points!). The main scoreboard keeps track of this per color.

⛱️Another way to score points is to place a towel on top of an umbrella, collecting pearls and bonuspoints!

☂️When someone’s board is completely filled, points will be calculated and highest points wins the game!

Thoughts

👍 the game looks really great and the component quality is very good. I like the vibrant colors and the thickness of the cardboard

👍 this is a very accessible, quick to learn, easy to teach kind of game, which a lot of people will enjoy. It comes with some luck, some simple choices, but if you know all that, perfect game for after dinner parties or with families!

👍 i like how Maui is adjustable in how you want to play it, there are two sides to the gameboards and you can even combine the two for a longer game!

➖ unfortunately, when stored sideways the game gets completley hussled like a salad
