Gameplay

Pizzachef the New Generation is coming next week August 5 on Kickstarter.

🍕 In Pizzachef, pizza couriers compete with each other to become the new pizza chef in town! They do this by collecting as much money (points) as possible during the game by delivering pizzas.

🍕 Players take turns performing two different or the same actions, drawing cards with missions, orders or chef notes, collecting toppings to fulfill the orders to finally deliver pizzas.

Orders

The order shows which house the pizza should be delivered to, what toppings are required and how much money the pizza is worth! When an order is fulfilled, the toppings are laid off and the active player places a pizza at the corresponding house and points are awarded!

Picking toppings

Toppings are taken from 1 horizontal, vertical or diagonal row, all of the same topping or background color!

Chef Notes

Chef Notes are free (cost no action) playable cards that bring a fun benefit during the game

Missions

At the end of the game, players get extra points for the number of (secret!) missions achieved

🍕As soon as a player has delivered the eighth pizza, the end is announced and the game ends with the starting player. The player who has collected the most points wins the game!

Thoughts

Pizzachef is an accessible game, perfect for new players. It has a fairly simple mechanism that works well. Players alternate quick turns with scoring actions and hoping that another player does not just deliver a pizza to that one house you are just saving up for. This keeps the excitement going!

👩‍🍳 Gameplay works well and rules are well laid out. It is quick to explain so you can start playing right away!

👩‍🍳 The game has cool illustrations and the iconography works well

👩‍🍳 Like TTR, you lose points if you have been too eager at the end of the game. This works well.

👩‍🍳 It is nice that you can score points in different ways, this way you can see what you are going to try this game each time.
