Gameplay

In this expansion you find some new corporation cards and some new projectcards, but the biggest addition are the prelude cards.

At the start of the game, each player also receives 4 prelude cards and chooses 2 to keep.

Prelude cards work the same as green cards and are kept face up during the game. A lot of these cards have some effect on the production of 1 of the resources in order to speed up the beginning of the game a bit.

Thoughts

This expansion feels so good! I think everybody should try this expansion at least once! It changes the whole beginning of the game, which to me began to feel a bit on the slow side after a while.

The prelude cards you select at the beginning of the game, give you some sense of direction in the game, some guidance you might say. Plus it gives it a little jumpstart, just as predicted.

Because there are (so many) different Prelude cards, there's a lot of variety, there are a lot of different paths to explore within the world of Terraforming Mars.

The expansion feels well balanced to me and I can't imagine playing without it anymore. I highly recommend this expansion!
