Gameplay

WHATS NEW?

The gameplay is the same as the original CTA game, you build your own hero, cast runes and try to unfold your destiny. There are 2 main additions. Firstly the game plays in the realms of the populair book series by Brandon Sanderson; Stormlight Archive. Secondly, there are now radiant icons, these are special story icons that have the ability to unlock card abilities during the game. When attempting a radiant path, dark runes can't be used.

Thoughts

This CTA game is just as fun as its predecessor and contains gorgeous artwork based on the Stormlight Archive series. I recommend this game, especially to fans of the book series, but the game is also truly great for non readers!

👍 The artwork is beautiful (again), I can imagine this being a true delight for Stormlight Archive lovers!

👍 The red experience tokens from the original CTA are replaced with cardboard ones, better!

👍 It can be played in competitive, coop- and solo modes, all have a solid gameplay

➖ This game only adds a new theme, gameplay is mostly the same as the original CTA

Solomode

You (and fellow players) prepare your character for a final battle against Odium. Both ways play very solid and I can recommend trying it!

A copy of this game was provided to me by Brotherwise Games for the purpose of writing this review. My opinion however remains my own.
