Gameplay
Stuck in a futuristic society where things have gone incredibly wrong, you try to 'build a better dystopia'. You and your fellow players assign workers represented by dice to gather resources and commodities to spend these in order to construct markets, dig tunnels to infiltrate areas, strengthen alliances and fulfill secret agendas.
While performing all these actions you are placing stars on a beautifully designed board (and other areas). When you are the first to place all ten of your stars, you win the game!
Thoughts
This is one of the earlier games of Stegmaier and it occurred to me how he seems to take pieces of earlier games into his next ones. Placing stars on the board is also a major thing in one of his next games I really like, Scythe. I love to see how his designerskills develop over the years through playing and trying to unravel his games, I also can't wait for Red Rising!
Euphoria is a true sandbox game and I love it! It's a game where you can follow a completely different strategy every time you play it. It makes me want to play it again and again! Besides this, even though you have to set your mind to it in order to experience it, I really love the story thats behind the game. It makes me think about the world we live in and striding to create a new better world filled with love and good things
Also check my let's talk about story series about Euphoria in my story highlights on IG!
A copy of this game was provided to me by Stonemaier Games for the purpose of writing this review. My opinion however remains my own.
