Gameplay

🧪In this game, just as its larger sibling, players brew potions! Each player has their own bag filled with ingredients, each with its own action tied to it; gaining gold, upgrading a token, moving the patient.. a lot of various actions!

⚗️Players take turns filling their potion with ingredients, one at the time. When there are too many white ingredients, the potion explodes, halving the players gold or losing steps of the sick. Because… we are trying to be the first player to heal 6 patients! If so, we win the game.

🧙Each time 3 ingredients are on top of the potion, they drop into the potion, gaining steps of the patient towards the market-space, when reached, the patient is saved, giving a small benefit to the other player.

Thoughts

I’m always very enthusiastic when a new duel game is released. With toptitles such as 7 Wonders Duel and Splendor Duel, I was so excited to try this one! Ánd until now, I’m vry enthousiastic about it. I like how the game is not decided until the very end, I’ve had some games which where I thought I’d won, but ended up losing 😅.

👌 I enjoy the bag building element, just like my favourite mechanism deckbuilding, I like the tension buildup in this game

👌 there is a lot of variation possible, by switching the ingredients and focusing on different combinations

👌 The components are cool, the game has a very nice vibe to it.

➖the game is quite luck based, for some this might be bothersome..
