Gameplay

In Dragonkeepers, players try to collect dragons.

On a turn, players can choose to take one, two or three cards that are openly visible on the table.

This manipulates what shows on the open book, which is relevant for the next phase of a players turn, manipulation of the book.

The active player gets to place a card with its backside up on one or each of the top of the decks. After this, the player gets to play the amount of dragons visible in the colour visible on top of those decks.

If so, they immediately collect the bonus and the next player gets to play according to the same formula when choosing to (and if possible of course..).

Depending on the amount of players, the game ends when a certain amount of circles are closed, after which scores are calculated.

Thoughts

I really like how interactive this game is. Each player completely changes the scenes and gets to choose how many and what colour dragons can be played that turn. It’s a lot of fun to #pushyourluck with taking the dragons and still there is enough room to influence the game by the addition of gems and by manipulating the bookpages. I really enjoy this one and can recommend it!

👌 simple ruleset and quick gameplay

👌 cute artwork

👌 high interactivity

➖ there definitely is some luck involved and it can be a pity when you have bad draws
