Gameplay

A great sleeping sickness has spread across the land, in this game, players will wake them up!

In the play area there are 6 cards placed landside up. Each player starts with 3 charactercards and on their turn players get to use one by placing cubes on the main 'board' in the specific formation shown on the card. They then flip the used character.

If a landcard is filled completely, the character that is beneath it will be awoken and go to the player with the most cubes on it in their colour. This character comes with its own formation to be used in following turns. A new landcard is put in the empty spot.

When a player has 10 characters, end scores will be calculated and the game ends. Player with the highest points wins.

During the placement of the cubes, it's also possible to gain points, which can buy special abilities to use during the game.

Thoughts

This game feels so special! I love the theme, Ryan Laukat often creates beautiful dreamy worlds which tickle your imagination and this one is no exception.

The gameplay feels solid, its gamelength is just right and it's a lot of fun even without the special abilities, although they do add a lot of nice options to the game.

This game contains beautiful artwork and plays like a gem. I can highly recommend this game!
