Gameplay
In Savernake Forest, players build routes, animals and lay a trail of food for the animals to feed.
Starting with the starting player, players take one of the cards from the market, gaining the corresponding benefit:
The rooster: gains the rooster and is starting player next turn
Water drop: place the water drop on one of the resources, making it worth an extra point at game end.
Stones: place the stones on one of the animals, making it able to move an extra resource at game end.
Animal: no extra benefit besides gaining an extra animal to feed
Players build up a grid of 4x4 tiles, after which scores are calculated. Each animal gets to eat the amount of resources as stones displayed on the cards. Each resource is worth points as displayed in the corners of the tiles. Each animaltile itself can also be worth an extra amount of points. Highest score wins the game!
Thoughts
I really like the interaction of this game. Players really have to pick for themselves, while also checking whats best for their fellow players. Althewhile building up their own little forest, there is a good balance in interaction in my view.
The illustrations are cute and the tokens are cool. It’s a nice little filler this one, which many will enjoy! Im a fan ☀️
