Gameplay

In Catan the card Game, players simulate settlers trying to build their own settlement by gaining resources building roads, villages and cities. Just like in the regular Catan!

In this cardgame variant you build your settlements in your own playarea, instead of together on the same board. There are lots of development cards available in 5 piles in the middle of the table, containing actions, buildings and knights, each helping you to further expand your settlement and gaining the most points!

The first player to reach 12 points wins the game.

Thoughts

This is the game that got me into gaming a long time ago. During my highschool years I just couldn't stop playing this game with my neighbour best friend.

Besides the theme being the same as that of the regular Catan, I find that it feels very different to play. There is more strategy involved because of the development cards, I think this is what makes it great for me. There are just so many ways to victory!

I do have to admit though it has been I while since I've played it now. I think a couple of years. But I will always have a warm feeling for this game in my heart.
