Gameplay
This expansion adds:
Ally cards, all players get one ally card to be used with the favor coins throughout the game
Kingdom cards that are sets of 4 different cards rotating throughout the game, that each have different actions
Liason cards, gaining you favors, extra actions or points
Thoughts
I think Allies is a great expansion that adds a lot of fun to the already fun base game. Some of the expansions are really aimed at making the game more complex, this expansion doesn’t add much complexity, so I’d say it’s a great first or second expansion to add to your collection.
👍 I’m a huge fan of special player powers and this expansion adds a lot of this! There’s a very large deck of cards, each with a different power, so big replayability here!
👍 I really like the addition of the multifunctional (metal!) coins, to be used for different functions
👍 It adds a lot of fun new cards, I really like how one stack of cards changes throughout the game.
➖👍 It’s a plug and play expansion, not a lot of new rules.
➖I have not come up with a lot of negative points yet
