Gameplay

Wingspan is one of the first games I played solo when recovering from a head injury, helping me gain back some brainpower. This was actually the start of my board game journey, also on IG. Here is my short soloreview:

In the solo variant of Wingspan your opponent is the Automa, created by a company specialised in making solo variants called the Automa Factory.

It plays according a simple set of rules using a special deck of cards only to be used in solo games. The automa collects eggs, birds and competes with you for the end of round goals. The endscoring however is slightly different then your own.

Thoughts

I really like the solo gameplay of Wingspan. Needless to say that I am in love with the artwork of the birdcards and the overall component quality of the game; the automa works so incredibly well. It is quite difficult to beat, but when I do it feels very rewarding. I usually solo this game when I am tired and am in the mood for some mindful gametime with a big cup of tea.
